Whole Foods Domain 5% Community Giving Day

On Tuesday, June 23rd 2015 Boneshaker Project had the opportunity to participate in Community Giving Day with Whole Foods Market Domain! To celebrate, we offered fun activities throughout the day starting with an in-store parade and providing free fun ranging from kids yoga to live music! The partnership was a huge success which raised $5,650 for our organization.

We owe a huge thanks to our local WFM Domain champion and advocate, Emily Wylie, Healthy Eating Specialist. Thank you to everyone who volunteered or shopped at Whole Foods Domain on the 23rd!  An official WFM event summary and the press release for the event are below.

Domain had a fantastic 5% Giving Day with Boneshaker Project, a local kids non-profit, whose mission is to inspire kids and families to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. They brought a TON of energy with fun activities scheduled throughout day, including a special story time, Health Starts Here treasure hunt, in store parade, kids yoga, shopping cart races, bike course, dance party and a spectacular live concert performance by local 15-year old songwriter Grace London. Many friends of the organization came out to support including our vendors, Good Pop, Live Soda, Hot Dang, Bearded Brothers and Mamma Chia. Other supporters include our celebrity baggers; running guru Gilbert Gazelles, Colin Wallis – from Austin Parks and Recreation, and Sports Anchors Dave Cody and Ricky Doyle! WOOM Bikes kindly supplied gear for the kids to take on the bike agility course and one lucky participant took home what is now rated the best kids bike on the market! Guests were WOWed with all the excitement and many parents camped out for their kids to enjoy the whole day.

Event Promotion: ICE email blast, in-store signage, bag stuffers, social media, partner supported social media, local bloggers Do512 Family and Austin Moms, flyer distribution by community partners, YMCA, Woom Bikes, Carroza Athletics, Wanderlust Yoga and sponsoring vendors and Boneshaker partners as well as media coverage on FOX 7 morning segment.

Sales: We had a positive Tuesday with over $113, 000 in sales resulting in a $5,650 donation for Boneshaker!
